In our continued efforts to highlight Temple committee work, I am pleased to share the activities of the Finance Committee. This may not sound exciting to you, but the Finance Committee plays a pivotal role as the custodians of the Temple’s money. Nearly every aspect of Temple life involves money: More than 95% of our revenues comes from members, while close to 60% of expenses are personnel related.

Each Spring, the committee works with clergy, staff and lay leaders to prepare the annual budget. The committee oversees our investments, reviews the report prepared by our auditors, and sets financial policies and procedures. Each month, the committee reviews the Temple’s finances and makes projections, adjustments, and recommendations for the remainder of the fiscal year. And much more…

Long-time members of the Temple, as well as some new members, comprise the committee, and we are especially blessed to have Nance Ruiz as our talented and diligent Finance Manager. Nance is a pleasure to work with. And none of what we do would be possible without the support of clergy and staff. But we are always seeking new members, so please join us.

What can you do? Your financial support is critical, now as much as any time in the past. We all share the responsibility of contributing to TBT financially through honoring our membership pledge commitments and through donations in many forms including our annual Fall campaign and our annual Spring fundraiser.
