Yom Kippur Spiritual Activities
Saturday, October 12, 2024 • 10 Tishrei 5785
1:30 PM - 2:45 PMTemple B'nai TorahYom Kippur afternoon is an opportunity to explore the meaning of atonement, faith, struggle, hope–the themes of this day. We do so with a choice of activities for the body, mind, and spirit.
Plan on staying with us for 75 minutes of exploration.
To Soothe Your Soul: Sound Bath With Eran in the Library
Immerse yourself in a spiritual sound bath for Yom Kippur. Blending the meditative power of sound with the reflective and solemn nature of the holiest day in Judaism, we will have the opportunity to enter a state of introspection and healing through listening and breathing.
To Use Your Hands: Zentangle With Rabbi Dusty Klass in the Social Hall
An opportunity for quiet artistic expression - absolutely no artistic skill or experience necessary. Rabbi Dusty will offer a short teaching on the practice of zentangle as a tool for meditation, relaxation and reflection, and everyone will have the chance to spend some time creating their own zentangled pieces, some of which we will use to help decorate our congregational sukkah!
To Engage Your Mind: Chevruta or Solo Text Study in the Sanctuary
A text study exploring turning and returning using guiding prompts and questions. Copies will be available for people to study individually or in small self-facilitated groups.
To Connect With Nature: Reflective Walk Around Larsen Lake
Grab a buddy or take a solo walk around Larsen Lake, just a few minutes away from Temple.
