Shabbat Text Study with Rabbi Dr. Bradley Shavit Artson

Saturday, November 19, 2022 25 Cheshvan 5783

9:30 AM - 10:30 AMTBT Social Hall

Religious School parents, congregants, and visitors are invited to learn with our scholar-in-residence, Rabbi Dr. Bradley Shavit Artson with this special text study on the topic of "Mystical Tripping: the Aleinu and Kabbalah." At the end of every service, Jewish prayer books conclude with Aleinu. But did you know that this ancient prayer hints at Rabbi Akiva, a talmudic sage from two thousand years ago, who claimed that he was part of a heavenly service led by a female angel? What can modern people mean when we tap into the metaphor of an angelic worship circle? Are we also angels for each other?"
