Installation Havdalah Gathering: How Many Rabbis Does it Take to Change a Lightbulb? ...and Other Pressing Questions

Saturday, December 7, 2024 6 Kislev 5785

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Join us for an evening of drinks, light bites, and thought-provoking conversation as Rabbi Molly, Rabbi Dusty, and our visiting rabbis share their perspectives on some of the most pressing questions of our time. It’s your chance to ask the questions you’ve always wondered about!

Have you ever wanted to know what Judaism says about the afterlife? Where is God in times of tragedy? If that's too heavy...maybe you’ve been curious about our rabbis’ all-time favorite movies? This is your opportunity to dive into the topics that matter most to you. Plus, we'll hear some humorous and heartfelt stories about the people and experiences that have shaped Rabbi Molly and Rabbi Dusty’s journeys. Don’t miss this unique and engaging evening!

What is a Rabbinic Installation, and Why Now?

We will celebrate at our Friday night service, Saturday morning service, and Saturday afternoon Havdalah Gathering.

Installation rituals often take place several months after a new rabbi begins their role in a congregation. This timing allows the rabbi and the community to connect and establish relationships, making the installation a more meaningful celebration.

This weekend, we will be joined by visiting scholar and mentor, Rabbi Dvora Weisberg, the Rabbinical School Director of Hebrew Union College-JIR, who will lead events throughout the weekend. We also welcome guest rabbis Bess Wohlner (Congregation Bet Haverim), Julie Bressler (Temple Sinai Oakland), and Leah Citrin Nelson (Westchester Reform Temple).
