URJ Mitzvah Corps

The network of regional Mitzvah Corps programs began in the 1960s as a way to help Jewish high school students develop a deeper understanding of social justice within the context of Reform Judaism. Now, as then, the program sensitizes teenagers to the realities and hardships of contemporary urban life, giving them a chance to make a difference and experience a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment that comes only with helping another person. Through the years, Mitzvah Corps has continued to provide challenging and rewarding growth experiences.

Mitzvah Corps connects Jewish teens with immersive social action opportunities across North America, Central America, and Israel. Alongside a group of committed peers and dedicated staff, volunteer with grassroots organizations that provide participants with unique hands-on experiences and a deeper understanding of the major issues facing their communities. Spend your summer building lifelong relationships while obtaining the skills to play an active role in making our world a better place. If you want to make a difference, Mitzvah Corps wants you! Visit http://www.mitzvahcorps.org/ for more information on locations and programs
