Seventh graders focus on social justice through texts, guest speakers and field trips. Conversations also highlight the historical role Jews have played in the civil rights movement and the root causes of social issues. This program is held on Saturday mornings followed by participation in Shabbat morning services. As part of the 7th grade, many students participate in the B’nai Mitzvah process, with the understanding that there is a continuing commitment to Jewish education through Confirmation and High School.
Our goal is for every B’nai Mitzvah student to understand and embrace Judaism’s ethics and traditions, and to feel comfortable participating in the spiritual and cultural life of our community.
