The 4th to 6th graders continue the process of Jewish learning through Jewish Studies and Hebrew. Jewish studies specialists spend 4 to 6 weeks with each 3rd to 6th grade class focusing on different areas:
- Jewish History
- Jewish Living.
The information and activities advance as the students move through each grade level.
Beginning in 3rd grade, students begin more formal Hebrew instruction and move from letter and sight word recognition to reading. Our 4th to 6th grade classes focus on both reading and comprehension of the liturgy for Shabbat and Holy Days. It is designed to meet the needs of different learning styles and allows each student to progress at his or her own pace. On Sundays, the Hebrew Lab is available for students who need enrichment or extra help. Our mid-week Hebrew program (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) continues the work done on Sundays in a one-room schoolhouse model.
