Chavurah—What is it? How do I join one?
A Chavurah is a small group of Temple B’nai Torah families, couples, or individuals who share common interests and a desire to gather together on a regular basis in order to develop their own closeknit Jewish community, an extended family within our larger congregational family. If you are interested in joining a Chavurah, or if you were in a Chavurah which is no longer meeting and desire another placement, call the TBT office at 425-603-9677 to request an application.
Think of the possibilities:
- get to know more Jewish adults
- have fun and try a lot of things you might not do on your own—like hiking, boating, camping and theatre, dining, movies, social get-together, book reviews—or anything your group can think up
- create an extended family with whom you can celebrate Jewish holidays
- create opportunities for children (and adults) to bond with one another within a family framework
- become a part of families supporting one another during life-cycle events: bar and bat mitzvahs, illness, deaths, significant birthdays/anniversaries, career events
You can download the application, fill it out, and send it to the Temple office, or contact Shellie Oakley, Kehillah Coordinator.
