About the Architect: Walter Schacht
Temple B'nai Torah was designed by Walter Schacht. With eighteen years of experience as a planner, a designer and a builder, Walter has a special understanding of the issues and opportunities that set the context for extraordinary architecture. The visionary task of conceiving and the pragmatic task of building were brought together in this project, resulting in a design and a structure appropriate to the Temple's philosophy and program, setting and budget. Walter is recognized regionally for his accomplishments in a broad range of projects. His residential work as been published in national magazines. His educational buildings have received AIA awards. His museum projects, from exhibit architecture at the Seattle Art Museum and the Burke Museum to planning for the Bellevue and Tacoma Art Museums, have been recognized for establishing new trends in visitors’ experience.
